Ed Fraughtons open house

Ann called and invited us to Ed's open house so we could see the second phase of his 3 block wagon train monument before it was shiped out to Neb. It is 1 1/2 times life size. He is amazing. His son Ted told us this second phase has taken 4 years. I was impressed also because although there were many people there and someone was ready to take his picture with Arnold Frieburg and an other artist i didn't recognize, when we waved good bye Ed excused himself for a moment and came to give me a hug, shake Daves hand and say good bye and thank us for coming. Thats the kind of man he is. He rubs shoulders with some very important and well known people but he is so down to earth. We had stopped in to visit a couple of times during the past few years and went to his first open house It was neat to see the different steps to the completed works.

Babies on the farm

Goaty's baby Madzie died so Grandpa thought that if we bought 2 little goats that were on bottles and were a couple of days old that it would help her and the kids (baby goats). I was skeptical that it would work. Kari (for the record) said "Mom have Grandpa buy them if it doesn't work out I'll take them home untill they are weaned." They are named JJ Jr. and the black and white one is Oreo. I think Kari rues that promise because she has had to call on the local vet (Sharmon ) more than once and clean up after the results of the enema they received, even giving one a bath. They are so cute! They have long floppy ears. Kari says when JJ Jr. jumps high His long ears fly up like he is trying to take off. (Maybe he should have been named Dumbo) I wonder if Grandpa will get these goats back the boys are soooo in love with them. Kari said they hold them and sing rock a bye goatie. She found Garrison snuggled up with the sleeping goats in the hay. He was going to take a nap with them. We all pray they will thrive because it would make all the kids so sad if they didn't.

OQUIRRH MOUNTAIN TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE

Tonya and Karid in front of the temple. Garrison, Ethan and Maddie in front of the temple. Sharmon email your families pictures from when you we here and Tonya some of your family at the open houses and I'll post them. Grrison liked the room with the bulls. In case you can't figure out what that is, it's the baptismal font held up by the 12 staues of oxen. The kids liked riding the golf cart to and from the car. We are really blessed to have so many temples within a 20 min. drive. I feel blessed that the kids were able to go to an open house and see inside 2 temples before they are dedicated. It's my prayer they will all go there when grown and receive the wonderful blessings awaiting them.

artichokes

Hey, are these strange or what. The friend at the nursery that started the seeds said he was glad when we picked them up this spring. He said they were freaking out his students. For you older ones, he said they looked like the man eating plant from Little Shop Of Horrors. They are suppose to last 7 years but aren't suppose to produce the first year, but these are going crazy. Now if we can figure out when they are ready to pick how to do that and how to best cook them we'll be doing great.

Check out these wierd plants
